Emergency After Hours Contact
Court of King's Bench | SaskatchewanEmergency After Hours Contact
In the event the Court needs to be contacted after regular hours to consider an emergent application or situation, an email must be sent to the after-hours email.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, the emergency email address is to be used exclusively for real, immediate emergencies that require immediate attention. Using this email for non-urgent matters is inappropriate. Non-urgent matters sent to this email can delay critical responses and impact our ability to address situations that genuinely need immediate action. It is not to be used for routine matters, questions, or issues that can wait to be dealt with during regular office hours. Please ensure you only use this email for genuine emergencies. All other matters must be directed through the appropriate, non-emergency channels.
Please note that matters requiring an emergency application outside of regular office hours are rare. For example, an emergency court hearing may be convened to hear an application for an injunction, an extra-provincial warrant or a time-sensitive authorization to monitor private communications.
When an emergency email is received, court staff will review your email to determine if it is an emergency. If the situation is urgent, a court employee will contact you to provide instructions. If it is determined that the matter is not emergent, you may be advised to contact the appropriate judicial centre during regular office hours or your email may not be responded to until the next business day.
When the need for an emergency after-hours application is anticipated, the applicant must contact the Local Registrar at the appropriate judicial centre in advance, during regular office hours, to make appropriate arrangements.
