The Provincial Court of Saskatchewan encourages members of the public to be aware of a text message ticket scam circulating in Saskatchewan.

There has been a recent increase of reports from residents who have received text messages claiming fine payment is required and a court date has been issued.

The text message claims to be from the ‘Saskatchewan Provincial Court’ ,and tells the recipient of the text that they have a Provincial Court traffic violation and must appear in court. Many of the text messages include a false ticket number and names of court officials and/or law enforcement officers. The message urges people to click a link to pay a fine. These messages often create urgency and pressure recipients into acting quickly.

This is a scam.
