The Honourable Robert Leurer has been appointed a judge of the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, while the Honourable Graeme Mitchell has been appointed a judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan. Mr. Justice Leurer was previously a judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench in Regina. He earned a law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1984, and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2003.
He was a partner at MLT Aikins LLP in Regina at the time of his appointment to the trial court. Mr. Justice Mitchell was called to the Bar in 1985, and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1998. He was a Crown prosecutor, and later, Director of the Constitutional Law Branch for the Ministry of Justice. In 2016, he was appointed Vice-Chair of the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board.
