The Honourable Lian M. Schwann has been appointed a judge of the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan. Madam Justice Schwann was previously a judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan in Regina. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Saskatchewan.
She was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1981, and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2007. Prior to her appointment to Queen’s Bench in 2011, she was Registrar of the Court of Appeal and Registrar in Bankruptcy. She replaces Madam Justice J.A. Ryan-Froslie, who elected supernumerary status on May 5, 2017. More
