The Honourable Martel D. Popescul was appointed Chief Justice of the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench Friday by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Mr. Justice Popescul will replace current Chief Justice R.D. Laing, who has elected supernumerary status, effective January 1, 2012. Mr. Justice Popescul has served as a judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench since 2006.
