Two judges have been appointed to the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan: the Honourable Michelle R. Brass is appointed to Estevan, while the Honourable Brian Hendrickson has been appointed in Moose Jaw.  Judge Brass, a Saulteaux woman from the Peepeekisis First Nation, began her career with the Ministry of Justice and went on to work with Justice Canada, the Indian Specific Claims Commission, and the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency before starting her own practice. Judge Brass replaces Judge Wiegers, who is moving to the Provincial Court in Regina.

Judge Hendrickson received his law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1981. He articled at the Court of Queen’s Bench in Regina and went on to work first in private practice, and then with the Ministry of Justice in various positions, most recently as the Regional Crown Prosecutor in Moose Jaw. Judge Hendrickson replaces Judge Kovatch, who is moving to the Provincial Court in Regina.
