The Honourable Donald H. Layh has been appointed a judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan in Yorkton. Justice Layh is a member of both the Saskatchewan and Manitoba Bars and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2005. Justice Layh practised with Robertson Stromberg in Saskatoon before establishing Layh & Associates in Langenburg. He developed a broad general practice, with specialized areas of expertise in the area of debtor-creditor, personal property law, bankruptcy and insolvency law. Justice Layh has chaired the Saskatchewan Law Reform Commission since 2010. He has been an instructor of the Bar Admission Course and associate professor at the College of Law, as well as writing numerous legal articles and textbooks. He replaces Justice J.L.G. Pritchard, who elected to become a supernumerary judge in June 2013.
