Amy Groothuis has been appointed the Registrar of the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, effective February 1, 2021
The Honourable Robert G. Richards, Chief Justice of Saskatchewan, is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Groothuis as Registrar of the Court of Appeal.
Ms. Groothuis received an Hon. B.A. from the University of Toronto in 2002 and her LL.B.from the University of Ottawa in 2005. After practicing in Ottawa for several years, she moved to Yellowknife, where she practiced in both the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
In 2017, Ms. Groothuis relocated to Saskatchewan and joined Miller Thompson LLP, where she was a partner in the Regina office at the time of her appointment as Registrar. She practiced in the areas of administrative law, assessment law, and labour and employment law.
Ms. Groothuis has been active in the CBA and is former Chair of CBA Saskatchewan’s South Administrative and Labour Law Section. She resides in Regina with her husband and three children.
