Mr. Justice Ralph Ottenbreit

Justice Ralph K. Ottenbreit was appointed to the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan in 2009. Prior to his appointment, he served as a judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan for two years. Justice Ottenbreit earned a B.A. with distinction (1974) and an LL.B. with distinction (1975) from the University of Saskatchewan. He received a Queen’s Counsel designation in 1989. Justice Ottenbreit articled and practiced with Griffin Beke and Thorson. In 1982, he joined Shirkey Ulmer Shirkey and Ottenbreit, where he practiced until 1991, when he joined Robertson Stromberg. At the time of his appointment to the Court of Queen’s Bench, he was practicing in the area of criminal and civil litigation. Justice Ottenbreit is a past-president of the Canadian Bar Association, Saskatchewan Branch.
